I got an order the other day ...
The cowboy menthol takes like kool's to me. it is seriously exactly like a menthol in flavor, its weird and awesome.
Evan sent me a tea to sample with my order - the jasmine tea. It is awesome. It is super super smooth but the taste you do get tastes pretty much exactly like the tea from Chinese restaurants. It is very very clean tasting, it is awesome. I could vape this all day. seriously good. It is subtle but strong flavor and clean, it was unique. One the best juices I've had.
All three of the tobacco blends Cowboy, English, Turkish (& Jasmin Tea) are awesome, they are each a little different in flavor so try all three
I ordered a 30 ml of cowboy and the 10ml samples were free with the order.
While browsing ECR, I decided to check out the side bar, specifically, /ecig_vendors. I found mostly ads for sales, and other predictable links, but I saw one that caught my eye, for “REAL tobacco flavors”. Inside, the owner of Real Extracts, LLC was pitching his new flavors. He answered questions in the thread about his extraction process, and when someone asked for a contest for free samples, he offered:
OK, how's this? Send in a crushed pack of smokes (at least 1/2 a pack) and I will send out a FREE sample pack of our 10 ml Real Tobacco Extracted Elixirs. 10 ml Cowboy (Burley & Virginia) 10 ml English (Virginia) 10 ml Turkish 10 ml CowMint (Cowboy + Menthol)... My offer is based upon my belief that only a serious seeker of real tobacco taste would go through the trouble to send me the old nasty things. That guy is my kind of customer so I don't mind sending out free samples. The samples tell the story.
This was at the time when ECR was besieged by contests and giveaways, and frankly, ads that belonged in /ecig_vendors. Evan, the man behind Real Extracts, had a conversational style and tone I liked a great deal, and I loved that he wasn’t spamming ECR. And hell, I still had my last pack of American Spirit lights, unopened. So I emailed him, and he said he’d be happy to make the swap. I ground that old pack beneath my boot heel, which unexpectedly felt great, and sent it off. A few days later, I had a pack of four new flavors.
So, here is my first review. No scores, because compressing the subjective experience of my senses into a base 10 number scale is arbitrary and silly. If this review sounds like you might like it, you will. I recommend all four flavors to anyone who would enjoy a tobacco vape.
The four flavors arrived in attractive full color bottles, at 6mg nicotine. The packaging is worth a note, utilizing turn of the century style painted advertisements, with color coded labels and caps.
I’ve tried a good variety of REAL and otherwise, of tobacco flavors, and none of them has matched the flavor I remembered. I find that I like the one where the mediocre tobacco tones are drowned in spices or other flavors. I’d probably like them without the tobacco tones.
I tried all the flavors on a fresh Kayfun wick, with a 1.5 ohm coil, cotton wicks, on a fresh 18350 battery. Per Evan’s suggestion, I tried the English, then the Cowboy, then the Turkish.
The first inhale was very odd in an unexpectedly positive way. Smell is closely connected to memory, thanks to their physical proximity in your skull, I believe, so smells can trigger memories more easily than other senses. I remembered the heady glee of being a young smoker, and opening a new pack. That complex smell of cured plant matter and other notes that used to be a feeling of possibility. Years of being a smoker means I noticed that smell less and less as my senses faded under combustion’s onslaught. But boom, there it was. The juice itself has almost no aroma, but the taste on inhale and exhale is spooky accurate. The Cowboy (medium body, richer taste than the bright English) and the Turkish (like a pack of Camels. Seriously), while being uniquely albeit subtly different, had the same effect on me. It was the taste of a nostalgia I didn't even realized I’d lost. It’s beyond impressive.
Now, I wasn’t a menthol guy, but I’ve come to enjoy it in vaping. Cowboy Menthol is my new favorite menthol-tobacco flavor. The strong tobacco flavor is undaunted by a mint that perfectly matches the flavor of menthol cigarettes, and I will be buying a bottle as soon as I finish the sample pack.
While Cowboy Menthol (and probably Turkish) will go in my rotation, I think this might be the best juice I've tried to give a first time vaper. With the higher PG, that throat hit can help people make the transition, and the flavor, like I said, is uncanny. It’s the perfect crossover juice.
I am hugely grateful to Evan for the chance to try his wares, and I hope some of you will see fit to check them out. For you DIY’ers, they also sell the extract in concentrate.
(I see they just launched a line of steeped tea juices, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Jasmine, and Mint. Based on the quality of the extraction process as I’ve experienced it, I’m buying these next time I buy juice.)
I have to admit I'm not a tobacco afficiendo but I really like real extract tobacco.
Although I smoked a pack a day due to addiction, I guess I have never known what a true tobacco taste like before.
Ordered sample tobacco pack, pomegranate, and got extra maple.
Good clean flavor for all of them.
English for me has leafy taste with hint of tea on exhale.
Red Virginia is like a "dry wine" version of the English for me. Although I like the English better, but I think this would be good base to mix with another flavor.
From the Cowboy I got English taste on inhale and roasted nut smell/taste on exhale.
While the Turkish is a class of it's own; it got a good spicy kick with herbal notes. it's not something I would vape all day long (I like mellower taste), but I think I'll like it to clean the palate a bit once a day.
The pomegranate has a bit of acidic taste maybe? Like how you put fresh lemon into a tea, without the lemon flavor. This one is actually my least favorite among the ones I tried.
The maple has good real maple flavor on first intake. Although the maple became less prominent afterwards. This might be my fav among the Virginias. I feel the maple gives the whole vape a rounder flavor over all.
It's hard to choose which one I really like better
.
For taste, like I said, I think I like maple virginia the best for its well roundedness; but, as an adv the cowboy might be my go to choice. It has more roastedness? Toastedness?
It's kinda like, even if u like cake u wouldn't eat it all day long. U would want something more casual? Neutral? Not sure how to describe it.
Overall good impression so far.
I've also tried the Jasmine tea, and it has good flavor like those Jasmine tea in a dimsum place.
Trying the Kentucky Burley next and some cigars. This experience has gotten me excited about mixing different things, and Evan has been really helpful in suggestions and follow ups ( thanks Evan).
PS: I found this liquid is best at lower wattage (below 16) and above 1.0 ohm resistance.
At this point I've had at least 7ml of each of the 5 flavors ordered. Thanks for sending the Havana #1; that might be my favorite of the bunch. No complaints with any of them. Turkish may be a little too mild for me. Perique is excellent. Latakia hits the spot. I need to compare it to the Black Note Latakia but from memory I think yours has better flavor. Blackberry surprised me; I enjoy it a lot. Good fruit flavor without being very sweet. Overall I think your flavors stood out more than NET. Based on your recommendation I picked up a Kayfun Prime. Need to wait a couple days for my wire order before I can try it though. I've had my eye on a Dicodes Dani Extreme v3 for a while now.
I'll be placing another order soon. Probably re-order a couple from this first order; pick up a few cigar and tea flavors. Thinking Rose and Jasmine teas, CT broadleaf and Dominca #1 cigars, and Cowboy tobacco would be good to try next.
As far as tobacco extracts go, there are only 2 that i know of in Australian suppliers. El toro and Black note. Today i had my first vape on blacknote since discovering your stuff. Honestly i tipped it out after half a tank. I nearly died of boredom. El toro was OK but not even close to the ones you make. That Colombian was just amazing. So floral! I love them all but apart from the Turkish, the cigars have my vote.
The Juice: "ENGLISH is pure a natural tobacco extracted flavor using a BRIGHT VIRGINIA whole leaf extract. It is available only in 70/30 PG/VG"
The Hardware: Mech with Atomic dripper, 1ohm micro coil of 28ga Kanthal, Koh Gen Do wick.
Ratings are from 1-5 depending on where a juice falls in an attributes spectrum. Only the last rating, "overall", is based on 5 being the best. (For sweetness 1 equals very dry and 5 equals very sweet. For tobacco impact 1 equals very mild tobacco and 5 equals very aggressive and/or complex.)
Sweetness: 2.5. Virginia tobacco has a high sugar content, which makes it fairly sweet without the addition of added flavors. This juice is less sweet than a flavored aromatic or Cavendish blend, but still contains a nice level of sweetness as expected from cured Virginia leaves. It's sort of a green, vegetative, type of sweet. Extremely pleasant and natural, never cloying.
Tobacco Impact: 4. English is a single varietal NET made purely from bright yellow Virginia leaves. Virginia has a fairly mild flavor, but when presented like this as a straight non-aromatic without added flavoring it gives a very pure, authentic tobacco experience. Virginia NETs have a leafy taste that provides a bite and mouth feel that I just love, and English has a pitch perfect level of that leafy bite. Some may equate it to a grassiness. Triple filtered at 2.7 microns, the level of extract in this recipe provides great flavor with just moderate gunking.
Vapability: 5. A Virginia NET like this is an anytime vape for me. It works for me at all times, and is also a flavor I really crave when wanting that leafy, sweet tobacco. English does an amazing job at maintaining all it's flavor, so I can enjoy it for hours, even days, on end.
Flavor Accuracy: 4.5. Tastes exactly as expected. I like how RTE names the specific tobaccos used in each juice, and offer a good amount of information on their site about their methods and philosophies. English seems like an odd choice as a name for this juice as it brings to mind the English blends many NET vapers are accustomed to, which is usually a non-aromatic pipe blend containing several tobacco varieties, but that's just a small quibble.
Overall: 4.5. I have 3 NETs from RTE and they are all well made, but this one stands out to me the most because of my personal preference of loving the flavor of Virginia tobacco. RTE uses high quality leaves and professional methods to produce an exceptional product.
The Real Extracts are very good. The juices are clean and fresh, with plenty of clarity in the flavour.
The nicotine has a perfect throat. I feel good vaping these juices. Not once have they left me feeling sick. I can only speculate that Evan (is it Evan?) is selling only juices with fresh ingredients in them.
I actually really like all of them. There wasn't one bad one among them. If I had to choose favourites at this stage I would say that the Cowboy, Red Virginia and the Turkish are my favorite in the Pipe Tobacco range.
The cowboy is a robust cigarette vape. I didn't expect that. I expected it to be similar to the Big Spirit from NeT.com but it was bolder, more like a cigarette and yet I could distinguish the Burley from the Virginia.
If I had to pick a favorite it would be Red Virginia. The Red Virginia was a surprise for me because as much as I liked it among NET.coms liquids it wasn't a stand out for me.
The Red Virginia for me is a balance between ashy robust cigarette-like vape and a more mellow sweet fragrant pipe.
The Burley that is in the spirit based liquids is also quite robust. I like all of them but I am not getting as much Spirit as I expected. It is more that Spirit acts as a background note to give dimension to the tobacco.
I was surprised at how good the cigar Vapes where, particularly those that tend to turn out bland with other vendors such as Dominicans and Nicaraguan cigars which tend to be mild and have lighter monotone flavour notes compared to oily maduros and Cubans. The RTE Nicaragua and Dominican however are very good. They aren't complex and I'm not getting much leather, nutmeg or oiliness like I might with some cigar Extracts but you can taste the clarity of the cigar leaf variety.
The Havanas are bold ashy cigars while still retaining their clarity of flavour. The Havana 2 is a little mellower and woody so far.
The Italian plum, being the only fruit based NET hybrid I got surprised me with how good it was. The plum flavor is balanced well with the tobacco which is not entirely front and centre. It's sweet but not overly so and tastes like a fresh plum and not like a plum based artificial flavour.
It's hard for me to cover all the juices because I've sampled many of them by applying a few drops to an atomizer. I've tried 6-7 in tanks to vape all day.
As time passes I expect the steeping process to mature the flavors a bit more. I've tried most within 2 weeks of getting them.
Though the juices are expensive they were what I was expecting for the price. Good quality, well made juices that live up to the promise.
I've had some issues with some recent orders from other vendors so it was nice to finally get an order where my experience of the juices harked back to the halcyon days of NETs where vendors bent over backwards to make sure their juices would be loved.
Although I'm a regular coffee drinker (mainly espressos), I've long had a deep love for great Teas. my all-time favorite is Fortnum & Mason's English Breakfast (followed by Yorkshire Gold), and I really love Rishi Tea's Organic Earl Grey. The key to a great Earl Grey is the bergamot orange finish.
What can I add to the enthusiastic praise for R-T-E's Earl Grey Vaping Elixir except to say, "Add Me to the List!"
This is an outstanding product that has opened my mind and taste buds to the advantages of adding a legit, high-quality Tea e-juice to my vaping menu to complement my tobacco e-juice selections.
Thank you for this excellent product, R-T-E!
My testimony is like many of the others here, i gather from scanning the reviews; dissatisfied with the plethora of candy-like vape juices, and previously unsuccessful in finding a truly legit tobacco e-juice.
Well, I sure feel like i hit the jackpot with Real-Tobacco-Extract.com. This is top-quality stuff. not to denigrate the worthy competition, but I'm glad I tried the Black Note "Classical Notebook" sampler first. It was indeed head and shoulders above any of the previous tobacco-flavored e-juices I'd tried (Halo's "Tribeca" was my former preference), but after experiencing the cleaner, tastier, much more satisfying English Classic Bright Virginia from Real-Tobacco-Extract -- and having the good fortune of speaking with the owner of the company and learning about his experience in the field as well as his extraction process -- I feel like I'm on solid ground in terms of extolling this product.
There are products you like, products you appreciate, products you love, and products you respect. The English Classic Bright Virginia is all of those to me.
Thanks so much for changing my life! I have been trying to give up cigarets for years by vaping. Vaping did help me cut back however never really was satisfying. I have bought countless flavors from all over town and the internet. Most went in the trash after a while. Due to me reading forums on ecigs I stumbled on your site and decided to order 2 of the sample packs. One was tobacco flavored and the other was with the fruit flavor added. I just have to say that none of them went in the trash, I actually like them all! First time this has ever happened to me. I normally don't like flavors but these have just the lightest flavor to still taste the full tobacco but with just a hint of fruit. Love them all and having a hard time deciding on my next order. I think I have finally kicked the smoking habit now. Thanks again!!!

After four different credit card processors terminated our Real Extracts accounts we have been forced to process credit cards off-site. Apparently, online credit card transactions for "tobacco related" have been tagged as "high risk", socially unacceptable or a threat to the political status quo.
When you are done click the "finish" button. You will land on another site to pay. I know this is a little wonky and may be alarming to some but it is the best solution we can come up with until we find something better. It is not a security issue. Your credit card will be processed by a secure verified cc processor. We thought this would be better than going to an off-shore processor we don't know or trust.
(You need to remember the dollar amount when you arrive at the payment page as it does not remember your order total)
